I Love My Friends 💗

Valentines Day has come and gone. It is a holiday I have surprisingly come to love, even as a single person! Commercialism aside, It is just another day of the year that presents us with the opportunity to lavish love and appreciation on one another, even in our non-romantic relationships.

Not to mention, it gives me another reason to craft! Check out the Valentines Cards I whipped up for my beloved co-workers this year! If you're new around here you should know it's become a tradition for me to surprise them with my card creations each year on Valentines Day. I think the cards I’ve made this year are my favorite more than ever before! They got everyone laughing and I used my Cricut Machine that I got for my birthday to make them! If you are familiar with my co-workers, the other dancers in Alpha, I wonder if you are able to guess which cards I gave to which?!

- You make me happy when skies are grey, but also when they're not grey and that includes when skies are green, which usually means a tornado is coming and that is usually not something to be happy about! -

The Kind of Love That Saves

TESTIMONY WEDNESDAY!

“Return home and tell how much God has done for you.”

~ Luke 8:39

Testimony Tuesdays!!! A testimony by definition is: a formal written or spoken statement, a public recounting of a religious conversion or experience. The Bible commands us in numerous places to bring praise, glory, and honor to our God by proclaiming, declaring, and telling about His marvelous works to others. That is the purpose and heart behind this installment for my Tuesday posts. Each Tuesday (more or less), a testimony will be shared here involving the recounting of salvation, redemption, overcoming, and/or healing just to name a few; A story that brings glory to our God and in which we might be encouraged, spurred on, and challenged with at the same time. The stories that will be shared will either be of my own personal experiences, excerpts from books, testimonies I find via youtube or other media sources, as well as YOURS! I would love to know and give you the opportunity to share here with us a testimony of your own, of whatever fashion that involves the Lord doing a transforming work in your life. Just email me your testimony and I will see what I can do about posting it on a future Tuesday! You may choose to have your name be known or anonymous. I look forward to hearing from you!

In the past, the kind of blog posts I would typically share around the time of Valentine's Day were blog posts featuring the Valentine's Day card creations I like to make each year for all my friends (they are pretty fantastic, you should check them out!) There is not much else this single girl has to offer that's worth sharing with the world wide web about this holiday, BUT this year I decided to post something a little different than what I normally do. 1.) because ain't nobody (me) got time to make Valentines Day cards this year, I'm in Israel! AND  2.) So I know today is not Tuesday, which is the day I usually save for sharing testimonies, but I thought I would take the opportunity to use this superfluous holiday to share with you about the truest love that I've found; the love that has transformed me, and saved me, and will forever be what I live for, regardless of what my marital status may be.

The love I speak of is that of Jesus Christ. Today I will be featuring a video of me sharing my testimony with a couple hundred students during the Ballet Magnificat Summer Dance Intensive this past summer. It is just a short compilation of snippets of me talking about my passion and love for Jesus, the one who so greatly loves me, and you, and all his creation. For a more extensive version of my testimony, to hear what God has brought me through, to get the 20-minute version of my story you may want to check out the following link of a blog post I shared in 2016 featuring a longer presentation of me speaking... if you can bear it. Hah! I am no public speaker but if ever I try, it is to make the glory of God known: My Story: The Testimony of Lillian Ortiz

Be Blessed!

Love, and Hearts, and Candy, Oh My!

What did you do in celebration of Valentines Day?

I had some free time again this year to make each of my fellow company members a homemade Valentines Day card! I know Valentines Day is a frivolous holiday enduring solely by its commercialism, but there is something in me that just loves it, and making these cards for my friends has become a bit of a tradition. Last year's cards can be viewed here.

I am really proud of the outcome of my valentines cards this year, and my friends enjoyed them too! Below are some snapshots of what each one looked like. I wonder if anyone can guess which ones I gave to who!? ^_^

Valentines!

What did you do in celebration of Valentines Day?

Before leaving for tour, I had some free time to make each of my fellow company members a homemade Valentine's Day card! I know Valentine's Day is a frivolous holiday enduring solely by its commercialism, but there is something in me that just loves it!! And am still single so that is saying a lot! It IS POSSIBLE to be single and still enjoy Valentine's Day. I see it as a random day in which I can use as an excuse to be extra intentional in encouraging and reminding the people that are around me daily, that I love them, even if it is not in a romantic way. And I sure do love the people I work with!

I'm so glad I took the time to make these cards before our tour started. It was an enjoyable process and I am really proud of their outcome. My friends enjoyed receiving them too, and that warmed my heart. Below are some snapshots of what each one looked like. I wonder if anyone can guess which ones I gave to who!? ^_^
